School Transfers

The Governing Board desires to provide enrollment options that meet the diverse needs and interests of district students and parents/guardians, while also balancing enrollment in order to maximize the efficient use of district facilities. The district recently changed Board Policy 5116.1 and Administrative Regulation 5116.1 to implement a "Priority Transfer Window". This change will allow our district to effectively staff schools and create balanced classroom sizes.

2024/2025 INTRA will not be available until 10/1/24

Transfers

  • Resident School - this is the school boundaries which the student resides in on a permanent basis.

  • Intradistrict Transfer - for students living within the Hollister School District who wish to apply for transfer to another school, other than their resident school.

  • Interdistrict Transfer - 1) for students living within the Hollister School District who wish to attend a school outside the District. 2) students living outside the Hollister School District who wish to attend a school within the District.

  • Priority Transfer Window - the time when parents or legal guardians may submit an Intradistrict or Interdistrict Transfer request for consideration. Submission dates are from January 15 - February 28

  • Transfer Application Reviews Process - requests that are received during the Priority Transfer Window. Transfer decision letters are mailed by March 30.
