My name is Jan Grist, and I have worked with the Hollister School District for the last thirty-six years.  I loved being a teacher, and I was sad to have to retire from the classroom. I just really wanted to keep my hand in working for the children and families of the Hollister School District.  I was elected to the Board the same year I retired from teaching.

I have worked with various governance team members in the last eight years.  I can honestly say that every board member I have had the pleasure to work with has shared the same goal I firmly believe in: every decision we make must be in the best interest of our students.  Any money we spend must directly support our students’ academic, social, and physical growth to become successful adults.
