Measure  M Citizens' Oversight Committee

On November 4, 2014 the voters of the Hollister School District passed Measure “M,” a $28.5 million facilities bond.  On January 27, 2015, the Board of Trustees approved a resolution that established an independent Citizens’ Oversight Committee to oversee Measure “M” bond proceeds, expenditures and audit reports.

Bond measures require an independent oversight committee and annual audits to ensure money is used only for voter approved school improvements and repairs. The purpose of the Measure “M” Citizens’ Oversight Committee is to:

•      Review and report on the expenditure of voter-approved bond money

•      Receive and review copies of annual performance and financial audits

•      Present an annual written report to the Governing Board

Education Code Section 15278 requires that the Measure “M” Citizens’ Oversight Committee inform the public concerning the expenditure of revenues received from bond sales pursuant to Measure “M.”  The seven-member Oversight Committee is comprised of individuals from local businesses, senior citizen organizations, organizations involved with schools, a bona fide taxpayers’ organization, as well as involved parents of children enrolled in the Hollister School District.
